Computation concepts

In: Fatigue calculation methods

This section of the help reports on various ways how to solve the puzzle of the fatigue life calculation. The brief description of the main chapters here follows:

* Examined planes - different schemes concerning the selection of planes used for a damage parameter evaluation.

* Notch effect - notches influence the local stress/strain fields by forming a highly stressed area and by induced plasticity.

* Non-linear FE solution - what to do if the Hooke's law is no longer valid, but we need to work with real elastic-plastic values?

* Load history decomposition - the semi-continuous record of load history has to be fragmented into separate cycles. How to do that?

* Other influencing factors - this group of other factors influencing the final computation is focused today only on the LESA method.

* Theory basis - some necessary universal concepts required for understanding.
